The term “expat” is an abbreviated form of the word “expatriate”. As an adjective, Webster’s Dictionary puts it simply as “living in a foreign land.” In other words, an expat is a person who lives in another country that is not his/her country of birth. It follows that Davao expat is a foreigner who lives in Davao for whatever reason whether permanently or temporarily.
